Established in 2003, it boasts extensive expertise in aquaculture, encompassing shellfish and finfish production, fish processing, recirculating aquaculture technology, and digital monitoring systems.
Moreover, it offers comprehensive solutions for aquaculture, fisheries services, marine environment services, and farm management.
Al Jaraf Fisheries’ cultivation facilities are strategically positioned throughout the UAE, notably on Bal-Rumaid Island, at the heart of the city at Sea Palace, and in the northern region in Ras Al-Khaimah.
Pioneering Sustainability in Fisheries
Bal-Rumaid Island stands as the UAE’s pioneer and sole open pond-based system, primarily dedicated to the production of White shrimp, which are not only distributed within the UAE but also across GCC countries. This island represents Al Jaraf Fisheries’ largest aquaculture venture in terms of both size and capacity.
At Bal-Rumaid Island, Al Jaraf Fisheries operates its own shrimp and fish hatchery, capable of producing approximately 100 million seeds annually. Additionally, it hosts a fish culture facility equipped with a RAS-based system, aimed at diversifying its finfish production.
In the heart of Abu Dhabi, specifically at Sea Palace, Al Jaraf Fisheries has ingeniously developed a fish culture facility tailored to produce table-sized species like Seabass, Seabream, and Grouper, primarily serving the palace establishments in the region.
Furthermore, Al Jaraf Fisheries has established an integrated aquaculture system in Ras Al-Khaimah, focusing on the cultivation of multiple species in brackish water. This facility in Ras Al-Khaimah caters to the farming of nearly five different aquatic species.
All aquaculture facilities under the umbrella of Al Jaraf Fisheries hold certifications for ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety Management) and HACCP, and are managed by a team of well-educated, trained, and experienced staff.
Emirates Fish Farm
- Emirates Fish Farm stands out as a distinctive RAS-based fish culture facility situated in the desert region of the UAE, specifically designed for the production of premium finfish varieties such as Seabass, Seabream, Barramundi, and Grouper.
- Emirates Fish Farm holds prestigious certifications including ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), ISO 45001:2018 (Health & Safety Management System), and HACCP, attesting to its commitment to excellence.
- The staff employed at Emirates Fish Farm are proficiently educated, trained, and experienced in the domain of aquaculture, with a specialized focus on finfish culture.
- Al Jaraf Fisheries spearheaded the construction and operation of Emirates Fish Farm, aiming to yield approximately 150 tons of finfish annually. Moreover, Emirates Fish Farm boasts its own hatchery facility capable of producing 5-10 million fish fingerlings per year.
- Within Emirates Fish Farm, dedicated weaning and larval areas are established, with capacities of approximately 32 and 50 tons of fish, respectively. Additionally, the facility provides on-site accommodation for staff members, ensuring their convenience, while continuous monitoring is conducted by our trained personnel throughout the year.
